I moved into a new house with a few close friends at the beginning of this school year. I'm going to be totally honest and admit that I have felt embarrassed, on more than one occasion, of our house's blank walls. Whenever I show people around my house, they chuckle a under their breath and make fun of me for the sparsely our house is decorated. Because of this, the Upgrade Your Space contest could not be more timely.
I chose this Leonid Afremov painting for several reasons. First and foremost, I have been a fan of Leonid's work for a long time. Leonid's work also has significant meaning for me because my little sister introduced me to his paintings a couple years ago. Now, every time I see one of these paintings I can't help but think of my closest companion. I would love to have this piece in my space because, as many know, student life gets demanding and, often, downright depressing. Having a colorful reminder that peace truly does exist would be a welcome token of serenity as I face the everlasting stream of projects, essays, and tests.
EDIT: I'm not sure if we are supposed to include sizes or not in these entries, but just in case, this would be the 20 x 30.
